Pirates and Sea Serpents
The latest grandkid request was for me to draw a pirate ship. I can’t just draw a ship. It has to be doing something. So I added the battle with a sea serpent. Then I had to explain what a sea serpent is.

When you’re three it’s nice to have someone around to push you in a swing. It’s even better if it’s your cousin and she’s the same age as you are. It’s also fun being the cousin who gets to do the pushing. Well, it is until a couple of seconds later when the swing comes back and pops you in the lip. Then it’s not so much fun.
I pieced together three photos to arrange this drawing.

I asked the grandkids, “What do you want me to draw?” The three year old granddaughter said a princess tea party. The six year old grandson wanted two dragons fighting. This is what I came up with.
The three year old wanted me to add a “friendly” dragon. He’s at the bottom.
It’s time for one of those cartoons that nobody gets. Well, nobody except maybe sports officials. Taken from the long list of “things shouted on the field” this insinuation is so old that it was probably yelled during the first game ever played.
This is an old painting. Back then, when practicing and experimenting, I would select photos from magazines and try to recreate them in my style.

As a token of appreciation I drew a caricature of a friend who has helped me numerous times with this website. You might be wondering, “if this is how he thanks his friends….”
He keeps trying to nudge me into the 21st century but it hasn’t worked yet. He’s got his own blog, among many other endeavors. It’s about nothing in particular, running the gamut from geeky tech stuff to hilarious videos. Check it out at: http://onemansblog.com.
