Cousins

When you’re three it’s nice to have someone around to push you in a swing. It’s even better if it’s your cousin and she’s the same age as you are. It’s also fun being the cousin who gets to do the pushing. Well, it is until a couple of seconds later when the swing comes back and pops you in the lip. Then it’s not so much fun.

I pieced together three photos to arrange this drawing.

Soccer Player

Most of the planet is currently keeping up with the World Cup. That includes my four year old grandson who drew this soccer player for me for Father’s Day.

It’s an evening game. The colors at the top of the drawing represent another stunning Arizona sunset.

Crown of Thorns Easter Basket

I love the Easter Bunny. I love watching children excitedly run in haste to find hidden Easter Eggs. And I especially love chocolate! All these things are great ways to celebrate the miracle of Easter. But just as there is more to Christmas than Santa Clause, there is much more to Easter than eggs, bunnies and chocolate. Don’t forget to include that message in your festivities.

This has been on my den wall for awhile and I just thought I’d share it with you. It is actually two different drawings. I separated the images in the original photo to show the child in one drawing and the grandmother in the other. They are matted and framed separately but hang side by side on the wall.

Popsicle Photos

With four cute kids eating popsicles together in the park we had several cameras snapping away at the same time. Ended up with over a dozen versions. I picked four faces based 1) on cuteness, 2) action and 3) how they’d fit together, aethestically, in the drawing. Then I scrunched everybody closer together on the bench. I had already decided to make a pencil drawing. The idea to color the popsicles came out of nowhere.
