I saw a lady the other day walking the lowest riding Bassett Hound I’ve seen in years and I thought about being a little kid running around with Kyle through ya’lls house and your pooch howling outside. Tonight I was doodling with Reagan and I thought about the drawing you did of me water-skiing that Kyle gave to me for like my 13th birthday or something. Reagan is asleep right now and I got on my email to check and saw your email address. It made me think about you and I googled your name. As I scrolled down this page I saw the picture of the man in the truck with the Bassett Hound and thought how funny that I saw that lady the other day. I continued to scroll down and saw Beverly’s picture and that is exactly (if I close my eyes) the smile and the warm eyes I see bringing snacks and drinks to us in the backyard or calling us in to pick up the mess we left in the living room playing video games.
Man that was a long time ago and yet just yesterday in my head. I am saying a prayer for you Colby tonight. I hope you feel your presence in my heart as I lift you up to God.
I hope to see you soon for any good reason.

Hi Colby,

My mom saw the news about Beverly in the Dallas paper today and called me this evening to let me know. I am stunned to hear this news, and want you to know that I am thinking of you all, as is my whole family. Please tell Keri that I would like to talk to her if and when she wants to; unfortunately we lost touch over these last few years. Again, I am so very sorry to hear this.
