Jim and Myrt
One of my sisters shared a photo of her father-in-law sitting in a pickup truck. I thought the photo was interesting so I decided to use it in a painting.
I felt Jim needed a dog so I added a likeness of Myrtle, a bassett hound we once had. She was with us for 18 years. I had to cover my eyes with sunglasses on the day she died.
The house they’re driving by is the one my grandmother was born in.
