In addition to using a tortillon (smudge stick) I drew with a letter opener. I think that’s a first for me. The tortillon blended the colors while the letter opener cut through the layers of oil to reveal the bottom layer of color. Oil pastels on Bristol board, 10″ x 14″

I decided to have another go at using oil pastels. Still trying to learn how to use this medium. I selected a nude as my subject matter and focused on the shadows of the upper chest and clavicle area. Oil pastels, 8″ X 10″
