Tatu

After I was asked to contribute art to a charity event I got with the Dallas Sidekicks and came up with this drawing of Tatu for him to sign. Tatu (Antonio Pecorai) was one of the most popular and prolific players to ever play the American version of indoor soccer. He was famous for taking off his jersey after each goal he scored and throwing it into the stands.

I first came across Tatu when I officiated Tampa Bay games in the ol’ NASL and refereed him as a player and coach throughout his career. While he might get “excited” if he didn’t agree with a call or two he always treated officials with respect. Well, almost always. He is still coaching in the Dallas area.
