Several years ago my daughter brought back from one of her many world travels, a small crucifixion sculpture. It’s very nice. You can take the suffering Jesus off the cross. I like that because it reminds us that the crucifixion was not the end. I hadn’t really noticed until I really looked at it that it had a dove on it. Oh, I get it! It’s the Trinity. I was inspired to do a drawing.

Veteran’s Day 2018

Sunday, November 11th, 2018

My church asked for a cover for their Veteran’s Day service.

In addition to the United States flag I included:

Dog tags to represent our military veterans. Poppies to illustrate the hope for an end to all wars. Military service seals for each branch of service (as gold medallions). References to two bible verses from John 15 and Psalm 18.

Sleepers Awake!

Sunday, December 17th, 2017

This started out as an illustration for a concert. Our church choir performed Bach’s Cantata 140 and a few other selections at the Dallas Museum of Biblical Arts. I decided to make it my annual Christmas card (even though it’s really about Advent). The inspiration comes from Matthew 25.

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and God blesses you throughout 2018!
