I joined my current church when I was in the 6th grade. It was about the same time that Roy Quill became the Pastor. I grew up with him as my mentor. Back then the youth group was called the “Luther League” and Pastor Quill was very active in its leadership. The times at summer camp in the Texas Hill Country were always entertaining and inspirational. As a young adult I would frequently go to him with perplexing philosophical and theological conundrums and he always had a succinct and reassuring response. When my wife and I lost our infant daughter his support and care was more than anyone could ask for. He will always have a special place in my heart.
