Rome In A Day

Robert E. Lee

Sunday, January 17th, 2016

January 19 is Robert E. Lee’s birthday. One of my heroes. One of the great, noble Americans, unfortunately on the wrong side of history.

Me in 1830

Sunday, October 25th, 2015

Here’s an example of modern day doodling – a quick sketch on my iPad using “Sketch Pro.” While working as an extra on a history-based documentary I took a selfie of myself in costume. (I stood behind President Andrew Jackson while he signed some historical document.) A few days later I sat in my lazy-boy with iPad in lap and came up with this just for fun and practice.

Ich bin

Monday, June 29th, 2015

OK, so I’m a little slow with current events. Let’s just call this an historical cartoon. Which means that most people won’t have a clue what it’s about. No, I won’t explain. You’ll have to look it up. Hint: JFK’s speech at the Berlin Wall, June 26, 1963.

Ich bin

I guess it’s better than being a doughnut. Again, look it up.

Joseph and Baby Jesus

Monday, December 15th, 2014

This drawing was done for my 2014 Christmas card. I wanted to recognize Joseph. I wanted to show a young man, proud to be a father and delighted in his son.

Joseph, son of David, what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. He will save his people from their sins.

Joseph and Baby Jesus

I wanted to complement the earlier drawing I had done of Mary and baby Jesus:(http://sircolby.com/drawings/mary-and-baby-jesus/)
